Alphabet's Google recently held a meeting with the Trump administration, urging a reconsideration of efforts to break up the search engine giant. The meeting took place last week, according to Reuters.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is pursuing two antitrust cases against Google, focusing on its search and advertising technology operations. These cases are part of the government's broader push to regulate major tech companies.
A Google spokesperson stated in response to Reuters that, "We regularly meet with regulators, including the DOJ, to discuss this case. As we’ve stated publicly, we’re concerned that the proposed actions could harm both the U.S. economy and national security."
