Tesla (TSLA) shares rebounded after a five-day decline. Nancy Tengler, CEO and Chief Investment Officer at Laffer Tengler Investments, joined Catalysts hosts Madison Mills and Seana Smith to discuss the company's future outlook.
Tengler highlighted that despite Tesla's stock volatility, it has grown approximately 49% on a long-term annualized basis. She emphasized that Tesla has evolved beyond being just an electric vehicle (EV) company, pointing to its progress in energy and artificial intelligence (AI), especially in full self-driving technology. "We no longer view Tesla as just an EV company; it's more of an energy company," she said. "Battery storage grew over 100% last quarter and more than 50% the previous quarter. It's also an AI company."
Tengler further noted that Tesla's value isn't based on traditional valuation metrics but on its narrative. "This is a company driven by its story," she explained. "If you believe in the AI vision and see a 30-40% pullback, it's an opportunity to add to your holdings. But discipline is key."
