On Tuesday, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) CEO Lisa Su confirmed that the company is ready to begin chip production at TSMC's Arizona facility and will be increasing its production of AI servers in the U.S.
Su made these remarks during a meeting with reporters at National Taiwan University in Taipei.
U.S. President Donald Trump also stated on Sunday that he would announce the tariff rate on imported semiconductors this week, adding that there would be some flexibility for certain companies within the sector.
AMD, a major supplier of personal computer chips, predominantly relies on TSMC, the world's largest contract chip manufacturer based in Taiwan, for its chip production.
