The German government is reportedly unlikely to finalize the 2025 draft budget by the July 3 deadline, according to government sources cited by Reuters on Tuesday. Instead, July 17 is being considered as a new target date.

This adjustment would still allow all deadlines for submitting the draft budget to the Bundestag lower house of parliament to be met.

A spokesperson from the finance ministry confirmed ongoing consultations on the draft budget, emphasizing the continued aim to achieve a political agreement and cabinet decision in July.
