In March, German industrial production experienced a decline, though it was not as steep as anticipated, according to data released by the federal statistics office on Wednesday.

Compared to the prior month, industrial production dropped by 0.4% in March, falling short of the 0.6% decrease forecasted by analysts surveyed by Reuters.

The less erratic three-month comparison revealed a 1.0% increase in production from January to March compared to the preceding three months, as stated by the statistics office.

February saw a 1.7% month-on-month increase in production, which was slightly lower than the 2.1% reported prior to data revision.

Weakness persists in manufacturing demand, with German industrial orders declining by 0.4% month-on-month in March, as per data released on Monday and adjusted for seasonal and calendar variations.
